Imagery is the language of perception
Kinxus – Branding Campaign
They say that images are worth 1000 words. When Kinxus came to us needing a complete branding campaign – we knew that images would be our language. Kinxus Aboriginal Urban Resources is an online powerhouse – which will contain a variety of Aboriginal resources under one roof. Their site, which we are currently developing, will contain such features as a resource directory, business and commerce section and virtual museum.
Given the expansiveness of the brand and it’s evolving impact in the community – they wanted a simple logo design, which would be augmented by very dynamic photographs. For the logo, we married clean sans serif fonts with a petroyglyph eagle’s feather. The idea was for the logo to represent a traditional and modern world in the same breath. This is also the note we strove to hit with the photography. The image shown here is of Chelsea, a Sudbury Secondary student who experiences this duality as both a ballet dancer and shawl dancer. We shot Chelsea at our downtown studio and were absolutely inspired by her movement and fluidity. The end result has big impact as the beauty and movement reach the viewer long before the words. The images were specifically tailored to capture this duality and stop the viewer.
